I'm going against the current and say I'd rather call because my thumbs cannot type that fast. And I despise doing it.

I mean, sure, I can use the microphone feature and speak, but why not make the actual call since using that option was already halfway there?

In other words, for short texts, that's fine. For long conversations, I'd rather stop being lazy and make the effort to actually call.
