Today I had two very important assignments - 1. big speech (100pts for speech duh) and 2. book exam (100pts for history) AND I SLAYED BOTH OF THEM.
First, the speech (timeframe 6-8 minutes):
My big worry was time, and in my practicing I made it to 7:03 so I deleted like 1/2 of a paragraph. Come to today and my total speech duration was 7:11 even without that 1/2 paragraph idk how that happened
anyway I got an 89/100 which is crazy given that we had a month to work on this speech and I started it last Wednesday where I worked on the outline for 1.5 hours and then yesterday I spent 5 hours completing it. So about 6.5 hours went into this speech and our professor sent out an email to everyone in our class this morning that peope had been reaching out to her saying they weren't ready to present and asking for extensions... none of those people presented today in my class (only 6 people present per day) but she called out 2 people who are supposed to present next class who now aren't. I guess I just don't understand how we've had this entire month and it's only Monday but you're telling the prof you can't present on Wednesday but I managed to put some stuff together in 6.5 hours? You have a whole 48 hours it's time to grind. I dont get it, anyway SLAYYY 89%.
Second, the book exam for history:
This one I was also extremely worried about because in the first book exam and first grade of the semester I got a 50% and maintained that 50% in the class for a while. My plan yesterday was to finish my speech and start reading the book (which I've also had a month to read) but I got distracted (who would've thought) and instead wanted to watch a BL
and write. I read about 25 pages of 170 and decided I could just wing it. The exams are 100 pts but only 10 questions and we are allowed to use our books during the exam (40 minutes allocated). My professor just graded this exam and i was hoping for a 70/100 but you'll never guess I got a 115/100
this means that not only did I get 10/10 questions right but i also got extra credit for my participation in the discussion after the exam about the book
This leads me to my conclusion: I am an academic weapon and procrastination is my specialty. Next time you guys find yourself in a similar boat as me just remember that where there's a will, there's a way. Thank you :taeilsob:
