Back in February, someone posted about Soojin bullying the actress in middle school, to which Soojin responded, “I have never spoken with actress Seo Shin Ae during my days in school.” In a new statement released last week, she further denied such allegations, saying, “I know nothing about Seo Shin Ae and this was the first time that I had heard such rumors about her and me. I have never bullied her or cursed at her behind her back.” She also added, “I am not guilty, so I strongly request Seo Shin Ae to release a clear statement about the issue.”

On March 26, Seo Shin Ae shared the following post on Instagram:

Hello, this is actress Seo Shin Ae.
10 years ago, I was young and someone without courage. However, if I once again face this situation with fear and hesitation, I think I will be very disappointed with myself and be regretful in the far future, so I am going to take courage.
I have worked in the entertainment industry since I was young, but at school, I was a typical student like the other kids. In my second year of middle school, I transferred to a new school in the first semester, and I worked to get along well with my classmates.
For two years, that person who mentioned me constantly said groundless insults and personal attacks about me such as, “I wonder how she is a celebrity when she’s not even that pretty,” “She’s a celebrity who’s past her prime anyway,” “No wonder she is an outcast,” “I don’t know what the teachers like about her that cause them to give her special treatment,” on the way to school, in the hallways during breaks, the cafeteria, every day and anywhere with a group along with unpleasant cursing and snickering laughter. It could’ve just been envy and jealousy of young students and words they said in passing, but they are words that have caused deep pain in my heart and remain with me to this day. The pain I received back then gradually grew into a bigger bruise, and I started to develop fear of people. That fear became trauma, changed my personality into becoming introverted, and it is true that it also became a great barrier for entering high school. It made me realize that not only physical violence but also mental violence can remain as everlasting pain in someone’s life.
She says she does not remember and has never spoken with me, and that is true. They were just one-sided insults. I think it is unfortunate that she is drawing the line even saying that she definitely did not do the actions or say the scornful words in her group behind me. And I’m not sure what kind of witnesses or evidence she has, but I want to ask if her selective memory is honesty that can cover up everything I am talking about.
If there are people who are struggling due to school violence right now, take courage and ask those around you for help. I wasn’t able to do so, and I believed things would gradually improve with the passing of time, but I realized that it did not happen.
I feel apologetic for causing worry and concern from many people due to this situation. In the future, I want to give back with my activities as an actress rather than my personal situations. I hope you will be happy in the upcoming month of April also, and it must be tiring and difficult due to COVID-19, but I hope you will gain strength. Thank you.

I'm really not sure what even to believe at this point, both parties are going round and round in circles
I hope Seo Shin Ae can find peace, and for Soojin, I hope she can reach a resolution after meeting the people making the allegations personally.

Anyway I'm still not sure- from what Seo Shin Ae says, it seems that Soojin gossiped and talked behind her back, which led to her classmates also joining in and making things difficult for her. That's not a good thing to do, but certainly something I can expect people to grow out of as they get older. An apology and some time away to reflect would have been fine and she could have come back and resumed activities.
But now the whole thing keeps dragging on, so regardless it turns out bad for both her and the group. Not the best way to handle things by Soojin/Cube.

It's actually remarkable how many times Cube has fucked up lol. And when they don't, something else happens (Ilhoon weed scandal, Soojin controversy).
(G)I-dle is still not damaged, and they've announced a Soojin hiatus so depends on what they do from here.

I feel her, even if its not physical u can get rly scarred over words of others and feeling ostracised. I can relate to her a lot. I dont know if this should be career ending though. If it's true it really shouldn't be career ending at all, but the way Soojin/Cube/whoever responsible has handled this has made it a whole lot worse. Their outright denial has made the gp turn on her.

Of course Soojin's stans and her agency are gonna defend her and act like nothing happened. But the fact that a lot of her classmates are coming for her says something else. As Knetz say, she's gotta leave the group before causing more damage to Gidle. And it's no joke, people who were Kpop stans during T-ara scandal do remember how they went from almost being nation's girl grop to Korea's step child.

NO we do not forget what happens in years of middle school, mean words stick in your mind. I wasn't bullied but the 2 or 3 times that I heard mean sentences, I would definitely roast the person if I had the chance to. I'm the most disappointed with the plot twist of her ending up a bully when in Gidle's shows she was acting shy and cute all the time lol. Idol images are fake as hell and this has been proved so many times. Actually that image makes a lot of sense now, she was cautious because she was aware of her past, but as Knetz say, physiognomy speaks for itself

Well it all depends on how true is it. Denying all the claims 100% isn't the ideal route to take unless you can truly back up your claims, and despite them being confident, the other side hasn't let up either, so it ends up damaging both sides. Not sure what they can do tbh these things are ridiculously difficult to prove/disprove.
I guess the only way now is if enough confirmed acquaintances/classmates come out with their testimonies.

Seems like Soojins statements about Seo Shin Ae were worded carefully saying she had never spoken to her but you don't have to speak to someone to trash them behind their back so this seems like the wording was made in such a way that she wouldn't be lying however she wouldn't be telling the whole truth.

These accusations were the ones that got Knetz heated in particular and the fact that it turns out to be just trash talking her out of jealousy I assume which I feel Soojin could've easily gotten out of this unharmed had she just said that she was jealous of Seo Shin Ae in school and didn't have the nicest opinion on her but apologised to her personally it would've blown over.

Now however what you have is Soojin being proven to be untrustworthy in her statements as if she'll try and get around even admitting to trash talking Seo Shin Ae then what about the more severe accusations being thrown at her? I don't expect Soojin to remember specific remarks but I am sure she can remember just generally talking bad about Seo Shin Ae.

At this point, It should have been resolved weeks ago, but Cube screws everything up like they screwed CLC up. As long as she is there the GP is going to boycott them and they do heavily rely on the gp

Tbh, I think this is really stupid and childish. I relate to her because I've heard bad things about me too but just grow up and move on.
