It has been a little bit since I posted, but I am finding myself needing some advice and I am
very conflicted between what I should do so I decided to ask for advice from the most unbiased people
I can think of. Internet people.

So quick run down, my teeth have always been messed up to a bit of a severe extent but for
some reason or another some people think it's cute. Should've had braces years ago, never got them
and now it's a problem that needs addressed because I want my nose to be aligned (it's a deviated septum).
I can\t get my nose fixed without getting my teeth fixed and here's why.

I require double jaw surgery, where they will also expand my pallet. My bite is too open and I have
a very not noticeable underbite. I didn't even notice until they told me. So they'd put braces on my
teeth for 12 months to straighten them out, then I'd have double jaw surgery which takes up to a year to
fully recover, heal, and swelling to go down. And my mouth would be wired shut for about 3 weeks. After
waiting a year for that to heal, I then would get my nose surgery done to fix the deviated septum so that
I can breathe out of my nose like a normal human being. Which is a lot of facial change within 3 years
that I will have to get used to, and I've already had a somewhat panic attack thinking about learning to
love and adjust to a new face.

So the question is. Do I just learn to love my teeth how they are, and go through with the nose? Or
wait and get everything done?

I'd say start by getting a second opinion if you can. I've had braces (twice), jaw surgery (they broke both sides of my lower jaw and slid it forward), and septum repair myself, and it's a lot to go through and not without risk of significant complications. Double jaw surgery even moreso because they separate your upper jaw from the rest of your skull. Be sure to ask any questions you may have to your doctors, you can never ask too many and it should help guide your decision. Ultimately it's up to you whether the benefits outweigh the risks.

unfortunately I have had 2 opinions now and both have said the same thing really. I ended up asking a lot of questions but it has made me question whether or not I can handle it mentally because I know how sensitive my mental health has been the past year.

sounds like a lot to get through. If its all not necessarily maybe ud be better of without? What ur doctor recommends ? :dubuthink:
My doctors have advised me what to do based on just my teeth, me having an open bite doesn't affect me really besides appearance wise. Same thing with straight teeth, and the nose would only be a slight difference whereas the jaw surgery would be a big difference.

Well if you want to get you teeth straightened id say go for it. Either way you’ll have a new face after right?
One would just be my nose would be straight, so slight difference and the other would be my lower face would look very different from the side and front.

if it's not medical it doesn't rly sound worth the pain :dubuthink:

Yeah I was thinking about it, I don't know how much it would drastically change my appearance. But nose would be like one month of pain vs. 3 months & a 2 years of back to back surgeries or just having the braces on for a year.
