I do get their concern, esp with the fact that there are real life counterparts to this style of drawing characters, but I'm seeing this argument more with people who seem hellbent on finding something to complain about the group

Don't worry about it. I just feel like the ae-avatars still need a lot of work design wise but that's just my opinion...

karina's looks like her (they really nailed her) but giselle....
I'm assuming the artists were tight on time with her so I"m giving them the benefit of doubt

I didn't even know they were meant to look alike to be honest although I do kinda see a resemblance between Karina and her avatar now that you mention it...

I feel like her features are down pretty well, just stylized weirdly
ningning's jaw looks off, and winter's look ok ig
giselle's looks generic imo
