Forever an aespa fan through and through I dont care what anyone says, aespa this era absolutely KILLED with their energy, looks, vibe, they brought everything to the table. The EP welll…. Not perfect though.

Drama was fire! I know some people didn’t like the chorus its repetitive its true I was never the biggest fan of repetitive choruses but everything else though….wow. The sheer improvement in terms of performance. I mean did you see Winter??? Hello??? Where did she even get that intensity from? Pre-chorus beautiful, bridge beautiful, chorus not so beautiful but everything else makes up for it. Very solid. Very aespa. Very dark! The eerie notes in the beginning, love, love, love.

Trick or Trick. Another solid track. Very Halloween even though its November but I think aespa is like one of the only ones besides Red Velvet that can pull off this spooky vibe and maybe even Dreamcatcher. The beat is killer. Got some good singing moments. Chorus goes kinda crazy.

Dont Blink is good but weak chorus unfortunately. But I love the chill rock/trap mood in this its just the chorus doesn’t bring more energy, its the same energy as the verses. Although catchy, still I expect more from aespa.

Hot Air Balloon. We shift moods here and aespa presents us with a Red Velvet song. I meaannnn, its a whatever song. Vocals carry hard here

YOLO is strange. Again different mood from the dark atmosphere of Drama and Trick and Trick. And again, doesn’t sound like aespa to me? Sounds like someone else doing this. Not horrible though, vocals are still carrying.

You is your mandatory slow, ballad type song although with this one you get a nice twist of it leaning towards a Christmas melody, which is strange considering we were on Halloween a few songs ago. We are just jumping all over the place. Not bad however.

Better Things is magical. It feels like it doesn’t belong in the album, but its a nice palette cleanser. Its got a nice buildup and its all in English. Very nice on the ears, sounds so tropical (shifting seasons yet again). The chorus kinda works here because it fits the atmosphere of the song. These girls are flexing their vocals on this one. Not a song I keep going back to but when it does come on its unskippable. The rap breakdown? Goes hard.

So yeah, hit or miss. The album isn’t entirely cohesive as much as I would have liked. Maybe its just me, but I would have liked that dark atmosphere of Drama to persist throughout every song like Red Velvet’s Chill Kill (wink wink, its the next album I’m going through).
