Ive been listening to Blackpink a lot lately and I was excited for the album to solidify my interest in them but I must say that I agree with everything you said OP. I think I’ll stay a casual listener and follow the activities of the girls individually.

As for 4th gen releases, everyone else you mentioned is really prone to stay K-Pop and don't really care about westernizing themselves. LA DI DA wipes the floor with the entire THE ALBUM combined. ITZY has found their signature sound and I love it. Red Velvet is either a hit or miss, but I like all of their songs except Umpah Umpah and RBB. Seulgi and Irene's mini-album is a masterpiece. Monster especially. Again, it's not the 4th gen that's issue here.

All of those groups are incredibly westernized as are most, if not all, girl crush groups lmao. Aside from Itzy (and even that's debatable) most of their "Innovation" is repurposing current or old pop culture trends from other countries, namely the US. That is kpop in a nutshell and the main reason the most successful producers are foreigners or koreans that lived abroad
Very few groups actually bring anything new to the table, it's just newish for Korea

yeah, they should fight bullying with bullying. idc. they're sending the message that they're not a group to be fucked with. fuck those kpop fans who literally switched on bp the moment they became successful, bullied them for YEARS, and still continue to do so till this day. bp has always sent good messages to their fans, so I'm sorry if they have one song that is them being confident in themselves. and even in this song, their words are being twisted. Lisa was literally called fatphobic on twitter yesterday because she called herself skinny. these kpop fans do not gaf and are only out to get blackpink. even in this thread, people are twisting the lyrics to fit a negative narrative. so please save me the talk about "GoOD mOrAlITY" Blackpink is at a point in their careers where they SHOULD be calling out their haters and giving them a little bit of what they've had to endure for the past few years. the song fits them. if you take what they say personally then maybe the shoe fits.

everyone with hearing could see that blinding lights was an obvious "inspiration" for la di da. people just didn't say anything about it because Everglow arent in the biggest gg in the world and anytime a girl group sings over a chorus instead of having a beat drop they think its the most amazing thing in the world.

I really think most house "producers" are just rewriting songs they bought overseas into Korean at this point. That's all SM has been doing for years and you'd be hard-pressed to find actual Koreans on the tracklists, even harder to find ones that weren't born or raised abroad. As much as we clowned G(E)-thnic, at least they're honest about it

Pretty much every single girl groups biggest hit internationally has heavy western influence. There's a reason basically every cute gg (Twice, Labium, CLC, Nature, April etc) are trying to take on more dark images and the ones that kept it up (Gfriend, OMG,DIA, Momoland) are ridiculed for it.
