It's an odd thing to say in all honestly but don't see why it'd be said unless she is potentially coming back and this is just to get publicity for the group or maybe there is a genuine personal issue that they're keeping private for now.

I was going to say that too. It was strange to read she will likely return.
Regardless, when it is due to personal reasons, I think it's usually because of physical and/or mental health reasons like other artists.
However, despite people having guessed that, I'm assuming she, or the people around her, still wanted to keep it private.
I don't know. I'll be taking this news seriously.

She hasn’t been seen outside YG building since July so fans were already speculating that something is wrong. They already started freaking out with Chiquita teaser and the 6 lockers in the back. And the removal of 7 from their logo. This just confirms their doubts that something is wrong.
