I think alot of us use kpop as an escape or a coping mechanism. I personally use it as comfort and a home to go to when things hit the fan. I think that due to the amount of bullying I've gotten for liking it and being a stan, it make me realize that people just don't like seeing me happy and doing well. They can't accept that something different from what they are used to can make someone happy. I've found a home with kpop and anime even. I never feel safer than when im listening to it, watching stupid videos, or on vlive, or even making edits or sth. Yeah there is alot of toxicity and its unavoidable in some places but there are pockets like ksource that are accepting and just a safe haven. It really does feel like home and kpop artists don't feel so far away to me anymore. They feel like family to me.

I’m the same, I got into Kpop my senior year in High School, it was one of the most stressful times in my life with school, my future plans and a bunch of personal things. Kpop was something I went to when I was down.

It really does age well, although there is corruption and scandals, we find our own safe haven in it
