Hello! So, I was listening to the English version of Eve, Psyche and the Bluebeard’s Wife on Amazon Music as we all should because it’s a bop. As the song was playing, it was giving facts about the group. I literally knew all of them despite not standing, and they were all obvious to me, but I guess maybe if it’s the first song someone knew from the group, they might not, so it’s whatever. For example, it mentioned Iz*One and how they were formed from Produce and how two of the Iz*One members were in the group.
And then, I see this “fact” (I really regret not screenshooting it honestly):
“Kim Garam left the group, taking the group from twelve members to a quintuplet.”
Like, where do I even start with everything wrong with this? Yes, Kim Garam is no longer in the group, but I believe she was kicked out, and didn’t leave voluntarily like the fact implies, unless there’s a detail I missed. I didn’t keep up with the rumors super closely, so I could always be wrong. Also, Iz*One has twelve members, Le Sserafim never had more than half of that and the two are very separate groups with very separate identities, so not sure how that mix up happened. Also, if a member did leave a twelve member group, it would leave the group with eleven members, not five.
If they wanted to keep a similar fact in, in my opinion, it would have been so much simpler to say:
“Kim Garam was removed from the group, taking Le Sserafim from six to five members.”
See how much less confusing that is? And just better in general? I literally thought of that in like five seconds. It’s not hard people. Also, like 80-90% of the facts were about Chaewon or Sakura or Iz*One in general and while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with mentioning them and I do love them, why not mention the other three members? They exist too.
I went on more of a rant than I expected to, but this bothered me WAY more than it should, and I came here to vent about it and because I was hoping I wasn’t the only one who was rubbed the wrong way by this. I don’t know, I probably shouldn’t be so worked up about it and should just be used to people getting stuff about K-Pop wrong. I doubt it was on purpose, but so much information was so wrong, and so easy to look up to correct. Heck, even knowing how to count would’ve helped them.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Let me go try to enjoy the masterpiece and ignore the random “facts”. Have a great day/night!
