Is there an artist, who's music now hits you differently, because you've gotten older and experienced something that has changed your life and outlook on the lyrics?

For me, it would have to be Eminem.

I first started listening to Eminem when I was around 8 or 9, and throughout my teens, I thought that his songs (especially from his Slim persona) were dope af. Whilst his more personal songs such as 'Mockingbird' and 'When I'm Gone', I thought were good, but didn't have me hooked as much as songs such as 'The Real Slim Shady' and 'My Name' did. At the time, I couldn't fully appreciate the lyrics of Mockingbird and When I'm Gone.

However, once I had my own daughter, something changed and I found myself more hooked on his songs that were about Hailie and each new song that he released about his daughter would be my favourite song from the album. The lyrics were always so relatable and would hit me every single time (Heck, I even named my daughter Hayley. And that just made the lyrics 100% more relatable). Because, what was in Eminem's lyrics to Mockingbird and When I'm Gone, was shit that I was going through myself as I tried to be a good Father to the most precious person in my life, whilst also juggling the need to provide for her, so that I could give her everything that she needed.

In some sense majority of old Selena Gomez/Miley Cyrus songs from when they were teenage artists. I had such a childhood with them.
Actually songs in general take me back to eras which I used to listen them, its a bit sad and melancholic in general.

Same here, his past was filled with challenges and even try to do his best to do whatever he can do to try to make his daughter live a better life than him 💕
Even though I don't have a family of my own, those lyrics still hit me reflecting on what my parents also expect from me, that song is one of a kind 👌

One Direction. I still have four of their five albums (all except the one without Zayn), but tbh after Zayn left, their music kind of dwindled and the feeling of burnout was definitely showing. Zayn was a powerhouse vocalist with all his high notes and everything, so without him, 1D's music just came out kind of dull. I know you weren't really looking for "an artist who hits different in a bad way", but they were the first artist that came to mind.
