If you were to get an Exotic pet, what would you like? This is something beyond the normal dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, etc.
Northern Flying Squirrel
Northern Flying Squirrels are the larger of the flying squirrels and live around 10 years. Their smaller cousins, Southern Flying Squirrels, and the Asian sugar glider, live around 3-5 years and are much smaller. They are very affectionate and imprint on their owner if adopted as a baby. They are social and are happiest when they live with other Flying Squirrels so getting one is often discouraged. If you adopt just one and then something happens to you, your squirrel will sometimes starve it's self to death because it has no emotional fall back. Flying Squirrels require a large cage and lots of time out of the cage for exercise. This includes a place with enough room for gliding. A common complaint is being scratched or cut by their sharp claws when they glide to you, (sometimes with out warning), because they are excited to see you. Flying squirrels require a lot of dedication and time. They have been known to hurt them selves trying to get out of cages when their human gets home in an effort to say hello and be with them. Their diet can also be expensive because they require a lot of variety and everything needs to be fresh. They also need more than just fruits and veggies, they need insects too for protean.
The Capibara

The Capibara is the largest rodent in the world. They are smart, affectionate, and very social. They will absolutely sleep in your bed and cuddle up with you on the couch. For the happiest Capibara get a second, third, forth, or fifth, so they have a friend(s). They are also known for their ability to befriend other non-capibara animals (Dogs, Cats (yes, they can be friends with cats) etc. They are especially friendly with dogs. They are a simi-aquatic animal. They need need a source of water deep enough for them to swim year round. They require a wide variety of fruits and veggies in their diet as well as grass they can munch on. They like to dig and will put holes in your yard when your not looking. Many people who have capibara's will dedicate an entire room for them that includes a pool and grass area. The biggest complaint about Capibara's is they eat their own poop and for nutrition reasons need to!
