An interesting fact about Arkansas (1 Viewer)

Arkansas borders 6 other US states, and you can get to all those states by going south of Arkansas. Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas are obvious, but I’ve attached the explanation for Missouri and Oklahoma. I’ve circled the areas in question and drawn arrows showing how you travel south to get those two states, along with the original map for clarity.

You get all kinds of accents here haha! You'll notice areas where more people are in state maybe for business (cos Walmart originated here), you'll have more of your "typical" American accent and then those out in the country range from Southern twang to General American and some weird in between.

And you'll get a lot of "whats" pronounced like "hwhat" T-T

That's so interesting! I work in customer service, and I get so many hwats instead of what
I have noticed that English speakers really like to change pronounciation of words to what's more convenient over time

For sure! All languages do it to some level but it’s very noticeable with English especially
