I spend far too much time in Akihabara on a regular basis I also have loads of photos from some of the more 'cultured' locations in Akihabara, which I can't post as they are 18+.....

A few other places in Tokyo that I recommend checking out, are;

Nakano Broadway is very similar to Akihabara. However, all the shops are concentrated into one shopping complex that is 4 floors, with the majority of the anime shops being located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Here you'll find a dozen or so Mandarake shops, with each shop specialising in it's own thing (anime figures, manga, trading cards, etc). You'll also find a number of independent shops that are selling anime figures, merchandise, trading cards, video games, etc.
You could easily spend 8 hours browsing through the shops in Nakano Broadway!
