was not expecting to enjoy, but i got hooked on the first episode

im not big on lotr if im being honest, i mean i watched it and liked it, but its not my favourite fantasy universe
and seeing the tv show being panned by critics & fans im not exactly lining up for watching

Bruh same the visuals are insane most of the time but the story and acting

it’s really boring i skipped a lot of scenes idk if I’m watching EP3

I’ve been watching this and I am really looking forward to the finalé.

overall, I wish they hadn’t done the first timeline shift. I much preferred the original actors and felt there was still loads of story to be told that they brushed over.

That being said, episode 9 was amazing. I really enjoyed it, but was a little bit disappointed in the final scene:

Princess Rhaenys should have just torched them all with her dragon.

That would have been truer to the classic GRRM style IMO.

What sets apart the best of GRRM’s writing is the bits you think it will play out in the anticlimactic way like most other classic dramas because that’s the safer route, and then the plot throws caution to the wind and says “the hell with it!” and takes the explosive route instead.

At the end of episode 9, they set us up as if they were going to do that, and then chickened out instead. A disappointing end to an otherwise amazing episode.

i prefer the current cast if im being honest

i was disappointed as well that Rhaenys didnt torch them all but i guess that would be kinda anticlimactic before the finale

What did you think? The finalé was good! I would be mad we have to wait till 2024 for the next season, but as Blink it seems the norm nowadays

i LOVED it :taeilsob: rhaenys still my favourite character cant believe we have to wait so long for the next season

GRRMartin said it might be 18 months instead of 24 months (although that still puts it in 2024). It’s tempting me to get the book instead. The same thing happened with Game of Thrones, I loved the first season so much I had read all the books by the time the second season came along.
