I think lots of people have heard about the initially shocking fact that deserts can be cold, because we associate deserts with heat. But the other day I informed someone that the UAE is really humid in the summer and they incredulously said that that’s impossible because the UAE is a desert. Which is partly correct. It’s a desert. A desert with large coastlines in the Arabian Gulf (large in a relative sense, the country is very small) and Gulf of Oman. But the important part is that while the UAE can be humid, it still gets very little rain. Thereby making it a desert. So in summary, humid deserts can exist in the right conditions, particularly costal deserts
