At my job when you go above and beyond you get certificates that you take to HR and they have a bin of what I call junk ranging from crap with company logos to microwave popcorn to candy bars. The kind of stuff elementary school kids would be thrilled with. So I got one and when they showed me the bin I couldn't help myself. I laughed so hard I snorted and told the girl in HR could choose something and keep it. I'm good. To which I was surprised to see she was clearly offended that the selection didn't excite me. Are my expectations to high. Am I the problem?!

It kind of annoys me that some workplaces think that working at their places is the shit because of lame "perks". Like, cool you have foosballs tables... thanks I guess.

Lol, foosball table would at least be entertaining. Not much excitement in 50 cent bag of microwave popcorn. Hell give me a 1 dollar Starbucks card and I'll save up or something!

They are fun for the first whatever weeks and then novelty wears off. But I’m also not that social w my coworkers anyways so there’s that. I think it annoys me when they hype up things Idc about or im not rlly here for.

We're in the same boat. I've even been scolded by bosses in the past for my lack of enthusiasm. My best response was don't insult me by thinking a 3 cent raise is isn't insulting. Shockingly I didn't work there very long. And they had to pay me unemployment and hire 2 people to do my job. Having 2 people replace me was the best revenge.
