I know this is random, I was just reminded of this. Just accept it.
For me La Guardia Airport in NYC. I’ve been there once, but I did not enjoy it. It was actually a layover, I got up early to catch the flight there. When we landed I was like oh rain yippee, but didn’t think much of it. It started to get worse weather wise though, and although we boarded the second flight I was taking they brought us back to La Guardia to first fix something, and then rescheduled it to the following morning at 8 AM because of weather. I had already been up since 6 AM or so, and because the delay was weather related it meant no accommodations for me (if it’s the flights fault they would have to pay for accommodations). My parents tried to convince me to find a hotel to spend the night at but the airport ones were full (I think basically all the flights got pushed back. Except one apparently that I heard people saying stuff like “hope they make it”). The food situation was also terrible, in some US states chain food places in airports lethally cant charge you more inside an airport than outside stores of that chain. Well either New York isn’t one of them or there were no chain resurgent store things because she best deal I found was about $13 for a small sandwhich (may even have been half of a normal sized sandwich). I looked at that and was like ill just starve. I then stayed up all night because a)I couldn’t sleep and b)I would be scared of my stuff being stolen if I did sleep so I didn’t try to even get some rest. I did finally get out of there 8 AM the next day. Haven’t been back since which I am relatively thankful for.

Oh I memory I have from when I was 11 was when we went to India my mother tried to get me to go to the bathroom at the airport there. As we were approaching, I heard this… awful noise. It sounded painful. The closer we got the sooner I realized this woman was like idk vomiting or something and that made me panic and I was kind of struggling against the grip my mother had on my hand (atp, yeah I should have spoken up and be like “let’s not go in there”) maybe I was nervous or the long flight rlly drained me so I wasn’t thinking straight w lack of sleep and nutrients. Idk. But my mom did notice (later than I did) and noped out of there. So I felt a wave of relief I didn’t have to go in that bathroom ^^;

But yeah I’m not going to associate that airport w positive things after that…

I got pulled aside once for “random security checks” where we got asked a lot of questions like “when’s the last time you’ve been in Russia”, “how many relatives do you have in Russia”, “when’s the last time you talked with your relatives in Russia”. It was me and my sister, we were flying with American passports (that do admittedly list Russia as our country of birth) and we were flying from the Berlin airport (earlier in the trip visiting Croatia and Italy and not Russia). But like I was 6 months from being born in the US, like come on. I might have been saved some anxiety if I was, though my sister might have meant that I had to join her so who knows.

Yeah it was after. Before the war we didn’t get pulled aside even when flying with Russian passports (before we had an American citizenship). Or at the very least if they asked my parents questions it was just questions, they didn’t go through our luggage or anything. It’s not like I’m super shocked that after the Russia Ukraine was started it happened to us, but I don’t have to like it no matter the reason. I have social anxiety just talking to people, when it comes to people asking me stuff while looking through my bag and questioning everything I say it just sucks.

it also doesn't help when like in my situation you see Chinese mothers bringing in shit like hard boiled eggs (which is a big nono in Aiustralia) lol

The way that airport is laid out and the traffic into and out of it is hellish.

If anyone is flying into Southern California, I always tell them to use Ontario Airport is they can. It's so much better, and not smack in the middle of LA.

The airport my family and/or I sucks not so much with traffic, but parking there? It’s a nightmare. You can idle at the entrances to the terminals, but everyone’s doing that already. There’s parking a for each terminal that are usually closed for who knows what reason or they’re full. There’s another parking which is a decent walk to any terminal and definitely stupidly expensive. It’s fine if it’s not me picking whoever up because I’m not the one suffering but when I do pick someone up I do suffer JFK is probably worse traffic wise though, it’s pretty rare someone actually drives down there though. Whenever I’ve gone on my own I’m dropped off at the train station (not in my state so it’s far ish plus 2 hours to NYC by train) and then when I get to NYC make it to the airport by public transport. But iirc my parents have driven in the past and basically said that traffic was such a nightmare.

I've not travelled through any bad airports yet, but the signage at LAX is god awful. The signs to the Star Alliance lounge point to an employees only section and I was like ........ where do I go? Luckily, I was able to figure it out for myself.

Probably Abu Dhabi airport (not Dubai). For such a connection/Eithad hub you'd expect it to be cleaner and bigger

Yeah the Dubai airport is definitely not a problem size wise I’ll probably never fly to the Abu Dhabi one realistically but it sucks that it’s not really up to par.
