Are there any idols who left their group who you like more solo than when they were in the group? (1 Viewer)

And by left, I mean, left. Not on hiatus, not in the military, not "they're on the album," but gone, bye bye.

Just thinking about this after looking at my cards and coming across EXO's Luhan. I wouldn't say I like him more post-EXO (though Lu is a hoot and a half), but it just triggered the question.

Trying to answer my own question...

Not solo, but Viviz has more songs I liked than Gfriend, same with Loossemble vs Loona.

He didn't leave the group so much as the group (has presumably) disbanded, but I like Junhee more than ACE. And in the same vein as "group effectively disbanded," I prefer Yena over IZ*ONE.

Oh, actual example! I like Chuu's solo work more than Loona.

That's all I can think of. This question was hard, actually!

Jessica, as much as I'd like for her to have stayed (and I'm begging for a reunion) I followed her when I wasn't actively following SNSD or K-Pop and I can credit her for keeping my interest alive all those years. Maybe I'd have ended up here anyway but also maybe not.

I haven’t followed him as much since leaving 24k, but he’s definitely quite accomplished, especially with music production. He produced many (might be most) of his groups songs (probably his own too), and one of the groups earlier albums was created basically single handedly by him. Not just in terms of writing songs, but also arranging, recording, mastering, and mixing for all the songs for the album.

Not that related, but since the group was pretty nugu and many kpop fans haven’t heard of him, just wanted to share. Since his skills aren’t well known

I appreciate it!! There are so many talented idols who just get lost by virtue of not being signed to one of the Big Four. And there are so many people debuting these days. When I originally got into Kpop, I knew all the groups and most of the members of the groups except for the most nugu of nugu. But it's impossible to keep up now!
