Since there have been a bunch of "who is overhated" posts lately, I'm curious about who is hated, but you get it.

And by "not cancelled" I mean, duh, everyone gets why NCT Taeil and Big Bang Seungri are hated. Eff those guys. I'm talking about active idols who aren't canceled but who have a pretty vocal hate train against them.

Also, I'll start: I 100% get why i-fans in particular hate AllDay Project's Tarzzan.

I'll say that I understand why aespa Karina gets hate. I will say that some of it is very forced, but I do find some of her actions controversial.

That is frustrating. Going to see Dreamcatcher a few years ago cost me, all in, around $500. Because it's not just the concert ticket itself, but the travel, PTO, etc. involved. I understand if you've paid and taken the time and made the plans and shown up to the plans and then... the actual performance seems like they don't really wanna be there, that would be disappointing. I'd probably stop being as invested as a fan.

I don't know enough about Karina to comment, but I'll say: thank you for being brave enough to participate in my thread.

It drives me crazy when a thread has a clear discussion topic and then everyone posts to be like "oh, no, I couldn't possibly talk about this." Why you here then?

Yeah and I even feel bad for other Blinks who went to these concerts and didn’t get the experience they were wanting. It’s so frustrating to see someone who is supposed to be one of your faves giving no effort anymore. It’s even worse when the other members get hate for it too despite actually trying

There’s a lot of popular idols who I understand why they have hate trains, in the sense that there’s a lot of scrutiny for them and based on past events I expect some people to hate them, even if I think it’s not actually justified. One example would be Lisa from Blackpink. Is there such thing as popular female idols who express any sexy side that don’t get hated on? And haters always like to use live vocals and such to trash on idols so I’m not supposed some people feel that way about her.

But to post insults, slurs or even death threats or condone hate, for example, for being sometimes lazy on stage is not a reason

Right, but sometimes fans will take any mild criticism as being on the level of wishing the idol dead, instead of just being like... I don't listen to that group because I don't like that member.

Like the number of times I've actually seen someone wish harm on any of the above listed idols vs just saying, for example, "Jennie is a lazy performer, and I don't like that" is nowhere near comparable, but the latter is frequently treated just like it is the former.

Yeah, that was a choice. I'm not even sure she actually understands the reason for the backlash. Like she gets that it made people mad, but she doesn't really seem to have ever actually grasped why.

I guess I should preface with that I don't condone hating idols (barring those who committed violent crime and are presumably cancelled) and my personal philosophy is that if I don't like a group I simply won't interact with their content. Walking away from things I don't like make my list very short but Blackpink is on it, I never really followed them so I don't know how justified it is and I wouldn't normally bring it up - but since it's the point of this thread; I've heard the same things others mentioned about them performing while seemingly not wanting to be there and doing the bare minimum at concerts which just seems disrespectful towards fans.
Secondly it just seems that every time I see them they are half-naked and acting gross, I don't find it sexy and I hate seeing that in K-Pop since it's so prelevant in western music - for me one of the charms of K-Pop is that idols do not typically act like that.
