I listened to the studio version of Nightmare by Shinee and the autotune was too much tbh, I prefer the live version on their concert album.

also forgot to mention that survival show songs that are exclusively made for that show are sometimes better live because of the associations with them. Like I listen to Produce X 101's theme live instead of the recorded one

There’s an acoustic set during the EXO Exordium set that’s fantastic. I prefer this version of My Lady, Lady Luck and Moonlight. Lay and Chanyeol are the ones playing the guitar. Acoustic set starts at 5:43 (on my phone so can’t timestamp)

Back 2 U - when Taeil takes it home, it’s sublime - the sequence from 2:47 to 3:33 is everything.


And now an even better version - the whole song is amazing and that sequence is even better now that they are all more experienced vocalists with even more emotion because of life experience . It’s from 3:02 to 4:02..

NCT 127’s Mad City was already a great song but Mad City live is transcendent - the energy and the heat as Mark and TY bars.

Gold Dust was already one of my faves from the 2 Baddies album, but live it’s just sparkling and emotional and ethereal, esp the close. There was a fan project to wave golden lights during this song which is why you can see members looking around with tears in their eyes on what was a huge night for them. (This group that has been told they are a flop for years is now playing the largest venue in Korea. 🥹)
