This is me. I am pretty shy. I've gotten much better at it since starting high school but I am typically not the first to start a conversation with a random person. I can tell when 90% of my friends in my entire life have been people who approached me first.

Nothing compares to the shyness I had in 5th grade when almost none of the best friends I had in elementary were at the same middle school as me. I didn't really have any friends that year, I just sort of talked to people.

When I say I've gotten better, I've gotten better. And I have most of my friends to thank for that. It's funny because when I'm in a class with a friend, I talk so much more to other people than when I'm not.
