Very good... probably too good as I feel people may get uncomfortable with it. Eye contact is super important... you can tell a lot about a person through their eyes. You can also easily tell if you're losing the persons interest by their eyes... especially if they start breaking eye contact frequently.

I usually alternate looking back and forth using both of their eyes. I also find using an attentive expression on your face helps them feel engaged.

@Nevergrey this plus very slight (AND WELL TIMED) nodding while they're talking. not all the time bc obvi that would be weird, but like if they're on a tangent, nod after points you agree with or to show you understand.

Thanks! I often try looking people on the root of their nose to avoid staring. But it feels strange to me, like squinting.

I used to be terrified of it but it's super important in business and sales so I forced myself to get over my fear. It still causes me anxiety but I control it and often use it as a eye contact as psychological weapon. Looking your boss in the eye and making them look away totally changes the balance of power and how they treat you.

When I was a kid, I sucked at it... always looking at the ground when speaking to somebody. Martial arts really helped me get out of myself as you are forced to look everybody in the eye. I think it also just gets easier as you get older, because you are more comfortable in your own skin. Confidence/self-esteem and eye contact go hand-in-hand.
