I'm actually with you on this one. I feel like food is prepared a certain way and that's how I was meant to experience it. It feels rude to throw other stuff on it.

Usually yes, though if you make food with fillings or stuff like that it can get harder to evenly salt it

Thats why we have salt shakers on the table. I undersalt because personally I love more salt than others but I don’t want it to ge inedible for others.

obviously the preferred approach is to "salt correctly" but if I would say if one was unsure of how much salt to put in (ie. no specific directions or ingredient list or whatever) then I personally would err on the side of caution

I don't add salt to food so I guess under-salt. I don't like salty food. I prefer the flavours of the food to come naturally in the cooking process. It has always weirded me out watching people add so much salt to food as if they're trying to preserve themselves.
