I will related my own experience albeit from a completely different state to R and country to J...I never learned about us history in my time and only learned parts of it in passing at university and in general
I don't think I heard the N word being taboo until that time either although I might have heard it in song
Not disagreeing with you that a lot of countries had slaves hell my own - china probably had more slaves than the entirety of the US but I don't expect you nor anybody else to know that

Which is why my point isn't to diminish any individuals experiences with regards to racism or slavery but

theres the internet also if i didnt know a word or heard someone saying it i would search it up im not denying what u r saying is true but this is my belief

absolutely my friend if there is a word that one isn't aware of one can search it up if one is interested in finding out it's meaning but not everyone would and might attributed it to just another word without understanding it's context...

but how many times have you searched up the Korean meaning of a certain word in Korean? again I'm not saying that you have to but I would say I have rarely searched for a korean word before...

the question then is does one have an obligation to find out the meaning of every word one is singing before one sings or uses said word...
