Because i was from the midwest of the United states where food variety was limited. I am still amazed and finding out how many varieties of everything there is... That and I hate the generic typical white mushroom when it's cooked. But there are other musthrooms I'll eat cooked.

Edit: For 21 years of my life mexican food was Taco Bell and some resturant called ChiChi's which was just a fancy taco bell.
