Hello, this is Bang Chan from Stray Kids.
I apologize for the offense caused by the comments I made during a recent live broadcast.
I thought about the impact my words and behavior can have on others, and have deeply reflected on myself.
I would like to mention that it was not my intention to specify a certain artist, and that my comments had nothing to do with the artist being mentioned currently.
I would like to express my deepest apologies to the artist who has been hurt by my careless words. I sincerely apologize.
I will be more cautious of what I say in order to ensure this does not happen again.
Once again, I sincerely apologize.

Just read what the controversy he got involved in actually was and I have to say that I'm confused how this became a problem as I have seen other idols complaining about junior idols nowadays not doing what's seen as normal respectful behaviour to their seniors and especially with the example he gave that they won't even respond to him saying hello like that's a tame request compared to some other seniors grievances that I've seen.

I'm glad everyone on the forum has their heads on straight and agrees that this whole BS shouldn't even be happening because he's mentioned this before and no one said anything. This is NOT something to turn into a controversy.

I looked at the original comment he made, and people are making it out to be so much worse than it is. They are saying he was offended and that this was an call out but like, I just can’t read it like that.

I don’t think Bang Chan was trying to start shit with another group, he was sharing an experience he had and wanted to make a note of how generations change and it surprises him. So all that stuff about him either naming the group directly or going to the group directly to resolve the issue misses the point because he’s not trying to solve or call out anything. He sounded chill about it and found it interesting to note.

I do think that he shouldn’t have to apologize for comments like that. He is not responsible for what shitty fans do. There could have been more tact on how much more vague he could’ve been (maybe not naming the event specifically) but it doesn’t matter. People are always looking for an excuse to shit on him and stray kids and same with IVE. If not this, it would have been something else.

Still, it does show a lot of maturity that he took responsibility anyways. I hope that it causes the drama to die down but this never should’ve been as big as it was to begin with. I hate that we simultaneously want more transparency and authenticity from idols and then get a toxic fanwar mess out of such benal comments. He is not the issue, the fans are.

That is not correct, last time he said it the same happend. IVE and especially Wonyoung got a lot of hate and people strarted looking up and fabricating clips where IVE would not bow. By this I mean the parts where they did bow where either intentionally cut out or only a part of the clip was shown that fit their narrative, even if they did bow before or afterwards.

Last time he said it, he was talking about some KCON where IVE did not attend, but this time when he was asked, it was about Music Bank Paris, where IVE did attend. So this is fuel to the fire of the people that started with this stuff last time and I assume the fact that he repeated it now and IVE being present at that event, makes those people feel validated in their opinions and that is why its getting so out of control now.

Anyways, regardless of how we feel about it if he should have to apologize or not, just keep in mind the endless amount of hate comments IVE members are waking up too every day now, is very real and hurtful. I do not think that his apology will change much, as the poeple doing those kind of things are more close to rabid animals than humans anyway, but if the hate is at least reduced by 20%.. I still think its good that he did.

I'm referring to the whole Chan speaking up about newer gens not being as polite as they should. Which is what I took from this whole situation. I did not clue in IVE at all. To me the group he's talking about shouldn't matter when it's something all of new gens have been found doing.

I'm late, but yeah he shouldn't be the one apologizing. He said a very broad statement with no hints and no names. The people doing the most work and drama, making a whole stink about it, naming names, etc. are the idiot fans.
