Bday/goodbye of my friend (1 Viewer)

Yesterday my friend celebrated het birthday and also a goodbye, cuz she’ll be going to Bonaire for two months to do volunteer work. We had a fun time and I really enjoyed it, even though I had worked the entire day and was pretty tired. Of course there was booze involved
There was also someone who used to be a friend of mine, but we had a fight 1 year ago and the friendship was never resolved. Luckily everything was fine and we acted normal to one another like we should have.

As present, we gave her a polaroid camera with a bday card. Unfortunately the polaroid camera didn’t come with a roll or whatever it’s called. We didn’t know that 😭. So she has to buy that her self to be able to make pictures.
If you buy a polaroid camera you would expect it to come with a roll right? Or am I the only one
So it was a very fun evening. But the evening ended pretty abrupt and not so much fun. They were supposed to go out clubbing, not me cuz I was tired and had to work the next day. But my friend’s parents suddenly said she couldn’t go out. Not because she wasn’t allowed to. But something happened. We noticed a tense vibe from her dad, so we knew something was wrong. I was expecting someone passed away maybe, and I was right.
So apparently her grandma passed away yesterday unfortunately.. So her day what was supposed to be fun, ended pretty terrible

That sucks to hear it was a very bittersweet birthday for your friend.
Even though it's painful that her grandma passed away, at least she'll be doing something so worthy to occupy her mind during her stay in Bonaire.
And maybe take some time to relax as well.

As for the Polaroid camera, unless actually written on the packaging, you have to assume the films are not included because that is how it usually is sold-- separately to profit more from consumers.

Yup, it's true. I just went to the US Polaroid site and it lists the two items separately.
Unless you buy what's called a Starter Set where it does include 2 colors and 1 black and white films.

Yea it really sucks.. she'll have a lot of distraction so that's good. She also went to an event today which was already planned. So I think she is doing fine. And the distraction definitely helps.

Yea we weren't bright enough to find that out ourselves until our friend opened up the gift LOL. Oh well, at least she has a polaroid camera that she currently can't take pictures with

Thanks Nina! I think it will help a lot. She's been looking forward to that for a long time now. I think the distraction will help a lot.
