It seems as though you can't win
I find that being the way I am feels like walking on a floor made of melting ice cubes. I attract a crowd of people that are so insecure in their blackness that they feel the need to correct mine to validate themselves. What's worse? I also attract white women whose only exposure to black culture is through having black friends that do this same thing, and they think it's not an issue. Even within my niche spaces I could be quickly outed as being too weird so they isolate me as well. It's not a matter of me ignoring it or being confident in myself because the confidence is the problem. I don't have my community or the people outside of it. I'm tired
I AM TIRED OF BEING TIRED
I don't need white women telling me how black I am
I don't need black women telling me how black I am
God made us all but he didn't create racial separation so even he can't tell me how black I am
To me being black is an identity, to others it's an accessory and a character
I don't need to play a character to be black, I just am
