From a business point of view I think this was the only real option for them to stay a group. No one single company has the finances to keep all four members except YG and I hate to say it, YG know's BP and what to force feed the fans. A western music company like Sony, Warner Music, etc could have afforded it but I'm 100% sure it would doom BP as a group because they'd lose their K-pop feel if that happened.

Yeah it sounds like it'll be like the agreement RBW had with Wheein where her solo career was down to her but RBW could still contact her for a Mamamoo comeback and if anything is the best outcome for Blackpink because YG won't use them much anyway and they'd have that time to dedicate to their own ventures whatever that may be while still being able to use the group brand.

if before BP had a comeback every 2 years now it will be worse. they will make a comeback every 5 years (if not more years)

Blinks will be all delusional about this news but we all know they was barely a group since the last couple of years and for sure they only accepted this terms just to keep their individual names attached to the group brand bc otherwise they will all flop after awhile since rarely group members continue with the same level of fame as before the group disbanded when they go solo. The only few exemption i am remembering now is Hyuna (4minute) and Lee Hyori (Fin.K.L)

I didn't notice that somehow. I'm glad someone paid more attention than me. If so, I really hope the group goes a similar route.

I don't care that much. Having said that, Blackpink belongs to the K-Pop scene. These girls are legends and they are one of the main reasons why K-Pop got more popular in the West. I'm no Blink, but Blackpink has my deepest respect for bringing K-Pop to another level.
