I don't particularly like her, but also, someone can be unlikable AND a victim of harassment, which seems pretty clear she was, especially with the text messages and evidence in the article. She detailed her complaints during a meeting with Mr. Baldoni, Mr. Heath and other producers in January, according to the legal filing. She claimed Mr. Baldoni had improvised unwanted kissing and discussed his sex life, including encounters in which he said he may not have received consent. Mr. Heath had shown her a video of his wife naked, she said, and he had watched Ms. Lively in her trailer when she was topless and having body makeup removed, despite her asking him to look away. She said that both men repeatedly entered her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed, including when she was breastfeeding.
agreed. there are a lot of things you can criticise blake for, but it's abhorrent that people bring all these up as a reason not to believe her. it doesn't matter that she's a "mean girl" or said some dumb shit promoting this movie when things like sexual harassment are being discussed. while i wish this movie was never made because i absolutely loathe the source material, in this situation i stand with blake and hope to never see that piece of shit that's justin baldoni anywhere again. the rest of the cast distanced themselves from him for a reason.Found this gift link to a NY Times article being shared about this topic: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/21/...unlocked_article_code=1.jE4.WU8V.i4jbnTtNxUt-

Right! And reading the article, it seems like promoting it the way she did was part of the direction she was given, and Baldoni pivoted without telling her when they realized people were having a wtf reaction to it. So we don't even know that she agreed with that direction, just that she was doing her job as an actor.agreed. there are a lot of things you can criticise blake for, but it's abhorrent that people bring all these up as a reason not to believe her. it doesn't matter that she's a "mean girl" or said some dumb shit promoting this movie when things like sexual harassment are being discussed. while i wish this movie was never made because i absolutely loathe the source material, in this situation i stand with blake and hope to never see that piece of shit that's justin baldoni anywhere again. the rest of the cast distanced themselves from him for a reason.
exactly like this "perfect victim" thing needs to die out, blake can be a mean girl or out of touch or whatever and yet she still deserves to feel safe in her workplace and most importantly - not be sexually harassed. back when this whole drama was going on, i didn't have much opinion on it as i was against this movie's existence in general but when you look at so many social media posts from that era, it makes so much sense that it's all a smear campaign towards blake with how this baldoni guy - who is nowhere as a household name that she is - was pulling all those people defending him as if he's a true feminist king, an ally to women who cares about the movie's themes unlike his comically evil co-star who just wants to talk about floral themes and promote her hair care brand. it makes sense he hired depp's pr team given they're behind the biggest piling on a woman i've seen on social media. both are despicable human beings whose downfall i'm looking forward to but i'm afraid will never happen because people will excuse everything and anybody as long as it gives them a chance to tear a woman apart. and if it happens to the famous and privileged like blake, it can truly happen to anyone. i'm so sick of it and of all abuser apologists, especially if they also happen to be women.Right! I've seen so many posts that are like "I don't like either of them" and like, okay, but one person is mildly annoying and possibly not very nice, and the other person harasses women and abuses his position of power. They are not the same!
It's really made me think that I need to be a LOT more skeptical towards any news that seems to paint a celebrity in a particular light, good or bad. It's crazy how much just a little nudge in a particular direction can get people spinning that even further. Seeing that his own PR crisis team was like "I don't even agree with everything that's being said, but it's working" is, like, yikes. People really took a dumb or poorly explained thing she said and spun it so venomously.
