Buying a new laptop, need advice (2 Viewers)

Currently I have Acer Aspire E-15 which served it's purpose well (5 years old) so it's time for an upgrade.

Requirements:

15 inch
numpad, backlit keyboard
new gen processor, either i7 8k+ or Ryzen 5+
16GB of RAM
dedicated graphics card with at least 4GB of VRAM
if possible, I'd like it to be pretty.

For now, I found Lenovo Ideapad 3 82EY0099SC and it fits everything above, except it's... quite ugly.

Help a brother.

The specifics you've mentioned certainly suits both but do you want a laptop more tuned for gaming or work?

And for the specific list of requirements, does it have to be exact? I'd ask price range too but you don't have to say that lol.

Work and ocassional gaming. However, work is quite intense because it will inculude video rendering and After Effects. It doesn't have to be exact reqs, but that's just a preference. Price range is irrelevant, but I'd like it to be reasonable. I'm not spending $3k on a laptop. Also, Apple is out of question, whether it's MacBook, Mac Mini or anything of the sort.

That's explains the 16GB RAM then lol. Video rendering really is intense plus gaming these days needs at least that. I'll look around then.

And yeah I'd never get anything Apple/computer related as Windows/PC is superior lol. Apple is a joke for gaming lmao.

Not sure if you've used the custom build PC/Laptop websites before, but I highly recommend them.

In the UK for example we have pcspecialist.co.uk (the laptop builds HERE). There are two sizes; "15.6" inch and "17.3" that are ideal for gaming, video editing and content creation that you might like. Backlit keyboards too and you can choose your own options for RAM, VRAM etc.

If you live elsewhere in the world I'm sure you have your own custom build shops/websites. Finding a pre-built laptop with your specifics can be difficult :).

this is entirely too late but framework laptops allow you to choose internals. the looks may be basic but hopefully open sourcing means that there might *might* be 3rd party interchangeable aesthetics.
