Yes! It's by M.R Carey, and starts with The Book of Koli. I really liked it. It was interesting reading where the world itself was a threat to their existence; usually those types of stories have other people be the sole source of the conflict to the story.

I'm not a big reader but if they ever make a show or movie out of it, I'd love to watch it. It sounds like great source material for a show
