Can someone explain why is greek yogurt called 'greek' if it's not actually greek? :wimwim: Random and I'm lazy to Google

I googled it and it's because they Greek used a similar type of yoghurt in their dishes. The origin of the yoghurt is unknown though so it could have come from Greece (although it could be from the Middle East)

Just like French style yogurt. IT's just how it is made.

Greek yogurt is thicker and more strained then regular. And apparently if you sweeten it with honey you got Australian.

French is like greek but uses fermenting method rather then straining.

What it has to do with these countries no bloody idea. Probably as much as French Fries do to France.
