Can you sew? (1 Viewer)

Sometimes, I watch Bernadette´s videos and admire the fact that she can actually sew. Because I´m into period stuff. BOOM, another fact you have learnt about me, how fascinating.
But can you sew? I´m tragically clumsy, but I´m planning to take this summer and make myself learn how to sew because it is what an elegant Victorian witch trapped in the wrong century needs!

it´s ok, it ´s just the usual pastime for single women over 25 :D. still one year to go for you, but so that you know what to expect :D

No, but my mom can. When one of the seams broke on my Chimmy plushie, she made it look like new! She even managed to find the EXACT shade of yellow that was needed!

Yeah, I can hand sew and have a sewing machine, I took fashion textiles in school fir GCSE.. But I'm a little rusty, and buying certain materials is costly here.

I mean it is a great skill. I can sew but does it last ? that´s the question :D. I have repaired jeans and trousers once or twice in my life, but I feel like we, as humans, are kind of losing that ability to rely on ourselves and I just like the idea of calmly sitting, looking out of the window and sewing :D. but the material is certainly expensive even here.

I mean it is a great skill. I can sew but does it last ? that´s the question :D. Of course, Its much easier to knit and cheaper too. I wanted to learn to crochet but I never got round to it, I ended up getting into DIY stuff more (putting up shelfs and stuff, quite therapeutic for me) but I can still knit though nothing grand like jumpers, just small hats and scarfs and baby blankets.

oh that´s really lovely! my mother can knit and crochet. she also sewed our clothes when we were little and didn´t have money and the material was cheaper. I don´t miss those times but it was really lovely, homemade, non-identical.
we shall make a club for old ladies knitting, sewing and listening to kpop :D
