This forum is flooded with millions of threads with no substance cause people are wanting their card so damn quick.

If I see one more thread that can be answered with a simple yes or no I'm deleting my account.

Exactly what's wrong with yes or no answers though? You can say that they don't hold much substance but it's more so up to the person replying if they wish to put the additional effort to give more substance to their response.

You can just as much say that you like something be it a food item, a game or a song as a valid response to such threads as you could give a more in depth answer to those threads about what it is that you like about it and could also go further adding criticism as well.

Not everyone is that kind of poster though and people shouldn't be made to feel weird about how they enjoy their time on the forum because of your preferences on how you'd like the forum to be as I'm sure we all have our own preferences but most of us keep them to ourselves.

I belive from my experience on here, the forum was more inactive for long spurts of time between Jan 2020 till Nov 2020.

I rmbr there were many (but memory plays tricks on us all): Why is KS Forum so dead? threads, which hv barely appeared ; if at all; since then.

Instead it's now the mantra of KS Cards event ir ruining or destroying KS Forum, or sth like tat. I disagree in both cases tho.

There seems a dead time here on KS whether the card game is happening or not, and i cant/wont (manually) check the stats so by observation it's less active from just after 12 am EDT(1 hr after 00:00 kst i think when daily/card event resets) or watever equivalent time it is(and depending on user's doing thíe daily task n how long it takes on tat day).

After the flurry of activity starting at 00:00 kst until most users get/or run out of things to say until they recharge, the forum seems to go into slow mode. Still users posting; but more slowly i think. Since its 1am/2am my time by then; i only notice/observe this period of time if im facing a sleepless night/the next day.

It seems to me except for tat couple of hours or however long 00:00 kst ~ 2:00 kst lasts, the rest of the day is slightly elevated activity or the same from Jan 2020~Nov 2020, tho ofc i could be talking out of my hat.

To me tho, idk wat difference it makes to whether anyone posts or not; Running Man n dnb keep posting in the artists thread before, during n after Jan2020~Nov2020 n i dont expect either to stop unless n until they dont want to anymore.

At different times, after i joined here: i was posting updates in SNSD, Taeyeon n Jessica artist threads unti i got overwhelmed by it. Then i tried to intermittently post in aespa/Everglow/Gfriend/BP threads, but i think mysteric/Xeulgi/Runningman was more diligent, n it seemed to me to be encroaching on their turf smh(tho not by anything any of them ever did, maybe just impostor syndrome on my part-some kind of felling of being a pretender posting there).

But now im posting daily n some of my posts even engage users here, maybe not much but i dont feel like a pretender here at all when doing so.

More users are posting topics which engage other users here n hey, watever floats ur boat rite? As long as its not offensive/breaks the rules here i say go for it.

If u disagree, tats ok but i think cards event has engaged n encouraged activity here on KS, without forcing those like Runningman, dnb, Lee Hoseok, marbleboy or others to get cards for themselves. It preserves the right to join in or not, up to the choice of individual users.(i hvnt read the previous msg before mine as it was made/posted as i was typing this.)

Cards event, overall a good thing imho.

I feel it is not as bad as it used to be, especially during week days. There are still only like 6 same people who are still collecting daily. that changes at the weekend and free card day. I wouldn´t worry. you are missed. maybe adding some quality threads should be your calling :D

Drewb, i loves ya man, but ur idea of quality over quantity before cards started aint wat i think of when i joined kpop forums. I nvr knew you in your heyday on any kpop forum, but i prefer the gentler friendlier Mr Boogie on KS forum from whenever u got booted off the other forum till just before you went on hiatus.

When will Mr Boogie of tat era return?

He would still rule KS even if not collecting cards. Sad to say i think you are just wanting attention/clicks with this topic/thread but i dont hold it against u. You don't even wanna know how many duplicate threads asking "What's your favourite ____?" and similar have been made since cards were launched. When I joined KS it was actually an active Kpop forum, now there's only 20-30 routinely active people and the majority of threads every time I check latest posts are cards related, and you can tell because you'll see three random threads in a row by the same user. I used to be more active, now I hardly bother because if you don't post a meaningless opinion thread or tag usergroups, you get no interactions. To be fair, there's many reasons I won't be stating here as to why this place has become what it is, but I joined to be part of a kpop community and I honestly feel like that is no longer what KS is thanks to the lack of meaningful kpop content & interactions with such.

But was it any different in say, June 2020 or earlier , wayyyyyyy before cards started? I say its a difference of degree n it started long before cards did. Maybe even in mid/late 2019. Not the random threads part, but when i joined there were less than 300 registered members n by end 2019, i dont remember how many registered members there were, but mostly conversation had sorta died out or slowed down cos between the users, every imaginable topic of conversation seemed plucked dry.

It kinda picked up somewat in early/mid 2020 but many users joined n left in a trickle, it seemed to me. The pattern was users joined, saw no engagement then left when they got bored.

The only difference istm is tat after Nov 2020, more users stayed n connected with each other, even if some think its only superficially n cards motivated.

I think its a good thing, n a change for the better. If you want to discuss wat you dont want to reveal here as to why, im on discord too if u want to dm me there or post in the random/general channel.

The reason the requirements for the card game are how they are though is because the lack of activity in KS was turning people away as there wasn't enough thread makers so the game encourages that and as someone who became inactive a while before the cards game was introduced the quality wasn't to my standard either.

Having been on a Kpop forum for discussion about Kpop I have always had a problem with the Kpop section here as it's only held together by news and releases threads which are usually dependant on how much appeal the group has.

For example I posted Oh My Girls Dun Dun Dance MV well before the reset time for the cards game and the only comments were just Miracles who I had tagged which as it didn't get flooded out because of the card game means that the interest just wasn't there.

There are things that could be different in relation to the card game like less less people rushing to get the daily right after reset so threads are more spread out than concentrated at a single time but the cards game is not the root these problems as people have complained about the Kpop section here for a long time.
