Häagen-Dazs? I never really thought about where that would be from, but I just wouldn’t have been assuming the US. I now know though that the spelling is actually nonsense used to trick people into thinking the names some kind of European name.

Finnish people wont stop yelling about finnish things being finnish. Its almost impossible to not know if a succesful company is finnish while living here

Dutch apple pie is Dutch, but not related to häagen-dazs other than the fact that people like vanilla ice cream on apple pie. Also I’m guessing the ä is part of what makes it feel Dutch to you, but in actuality ä doesn’t exist in native Dutch words. They use the diaeresis on e, i, and u (ë, ï, and ü), but a diaeresis on an a would only be used for foreign words
