Last month my grandmother died (may she rest in peace). Honestly she and I had never been on good terms, we often argued and didn't really talk much.
But since her demise it feels so empty here. I don't even go to her room. Because it still hurts even though we were never close. It still hurts that she is not there anymore. It's strange coming back home from school and see it empty.

I understand how it feels, you weren't very close but you did still see her as a part of the family and now she's not there and it feels strange and empty, its gonna take some time to accept it, it wont go away fully, the feeling will return often but it will be okay

I swear it's so weird I feel like I will go crazy in awhile. I'm trying to accept things, almost have. But that constant emptiness can't be filled now.

The only way I had fixed those feelings was distracting myself till they receded, I focused on doing things like talking to friends or family or listening to music or reading or just about anything that kept my mind from focusing on these feelings, its not always effective but thats all I could do I kinda forgot or left those feelings after some time, maybe months, it may not happen here but maybe it wont affect you constantly as it does ow

Sometimes we mourn the "what could've been". What if u guys could've been closer , but at least she isn't suffering anymore. Many ppl struggle with illnesses. Give urself time to heal.

I'm so sorry friend. I felt the same way when my grandfather died. I kept expecting him to come around the corner, even though my brain knew he wouldn't, and even though we weren't particularly close prior to his death. It's strange how grief and loss can impact you. Treat yourself kindly.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Since our childhood we think our beloved ones will live forever. Even if you believe in reincarnation (like me) it's devastating when we see that we were wrong. Enjoy every moment with the ones you love. These are the memories that will keep them alive in your heart.

my gramma died in 2012 (almost 13 years ago) at the ripe old age of 92, and even though we weren't particularly close, I still miss her. It does get easier, but it'll take time.
