so according to my "friend" its cultural appropriation for me to learn Korean (bc i want to be respectful to the Korean culture around my area and plans to visit Korea) and cutting my hair short to "look like the girls from BlackPink"
i actually have no words for this.. she doesn't really know that much outside of western countries so i dont go by what she says...
so is what im doing cultural appropriation? if so someone tell me​

Learning a language is far from culture appropriation. Shit, I literally had no choice to learn English to survive in Canada. And when someone tries to learn French, it makes me soooo happy!? Learning a language can both be a need or an interest. Your friend has no idea what they're talking about. Also cutting your hair short isn't a problem? and i completely agree.. like there is people around me that can't understand english very well and are from Korea and i hate that for them so im trying to learn and plus traveling the world is a dream for me so i didn't understand how she said its wrong when im going other countries, like its more respectful that way but i guess someone who will peak in highschool doesn't understand

and i understand people when they get excited about foreigners learning their native language, which is why i want to be respectful of different cultures
