Lol a friend has a bunch of apple trees and gave it to me as a pail to take home apples in. That shelf is my "return to other people" shelf, though I bet I could just toss it at this point, it has been a season...

I'm at the point that it takes me ~2-3 hours for each one, depending on how many extras it has. Like the perfect length for a movie or a couple TV episodes.

Yes, typically. I understand how to crochet well enough now that I don't have to focus 100% on the pattern anymore.

I tried crocheting one time and I really felt sad that I coudnt do it...... It needs patience but i dont have and even if I try again it never happens......

At this point, I've made 25 dolls/little accessories. I think the fact that they're relatively small helps with picking up new skills quickly, like "oh, I see, I should have done this..." and then getting to immediately try it in something another one.

The first time I crocheted, I couldn't figure it out either. I actually avoided it for a long time, like, welp, guess my brain doesn't think like this.

But then I got one of these crochet kits, and the owner said she came up with them after realizing that the bar for entry for crochet starts super high, like it assumes you already understand everything. And these kits come with these tiny, bite-sized videos (~10 seconds to ~1 minute long) that walk you through the whole process, so it's been really satisfying to learn how to do something I didn't think I could do. So I definitely think you can learn to do it too! You just need the right tools for how your brain learns.

The easiest way is to buy variegated yarn, that gives you effects like the dragon's body below. Otherwise, where you want the hard line (like with the gray edge vs the dragon body), you actually just literally cut your current color and then pick up the new color! It's a little tricky at first, because the yarn gets a bit loose there, but it gets easier with practice! Here's a site I've found helpful with videos and explanations. I still use it for stitches I come across less frequently. And here's a site with free patterns if you want to try one! (Sorry for the super delayed response, not been feeling the best the last couple days.)
