I re-discovered yuzuru hanyu this morning and have been watching content about him all day, and I'm crying because of how he didn't manage to fulfill his dream of landing a quadruple axel at the winter olympics this year. these are probably his last olympics and he didn't even get a medal of fulfill that dream. don't touch me I'm sensitive right now ;((((

I know he fell at the start, but it felt like he was way under-marked for his routine.

but my mood after seeing him fall was lifted by nathan chen's galaxy cheeto bag shirt. i've had pe outfits better than this dude's figure skating costumes at that point

I think so as well ! if you look past his mistakes, he was as graceful and expressive as always, and he embodied his gift of charisma and natural charm. he deserved a bigger score, I just really hope he isn't beating himself up for not ranking higher or succeeding in the axel :(

haha same ! I snorted a couple laughs seeing that because it looked like a greenscreen keke come on ! it's the olympics not a meme festival..

I follow figure skating since so many years and love Yuzu to the moon and back, but 4th place is indeed the best he could achieve here after his bad short program, plus the mistakes made in the FS. Men's figure skating is the hardest and if you make a mistake it's fatal. And he made many mistakes this time. I'm sure the pressure was so hard on him as 2 time defending Olympic gold medallist, he wanted to make history so hard and everybody knows if he is not okay mentally and he pressures himself too much, he always make mistakes. I feel so sorry to him, because he struggles with his injury since years and this was probably his last Olympics, but never say never, miracles happen and he is really stubborn all the time and ofc, he is always eager to win! Cheer up!
