I think gidle as a group wouldn't contine with cube regardless of this but time will tell

I don't follow the group closely. maybe if they are tired of being idols or go want to branch out solo, they won't continue as a group.

Timing can make the world of difference in context though, Cube absolutely would have had the money to trademark (G)I-dle closer to around their debut and no one really would have cared because (G)I-dle wouldn't have established their own public image and would have been known for being from Cube.

Going for the trademark now though feels disingenuous and only to mess around with (G)I-dle because the girls have an established public image and aren't just known as a Cube group and depending on just how long is left on (G)I-dles contracts there's a chance Cube gets rejected since this is exactly what Source Music tried with Gfriend which got denied for this exact reasoning.

I hope the trademark gets rejected. Cube filed application a year before contract renewal so they may have a better chance than Source who I recall filed for trademark after Gfriend disbanded.

They filed a couple months before Gfriend disbanded since they disbanded in May and I believe the filing was made in March so depends on if (G)I-dle are still under Cube when they check the case.

Gidle are one of my favs and the good things about them are:
each of them have their own individual activities which I think is always a good thing especially for female idols considering GG most do not renew with all members renewing and thus having individual activities helps with the future (but that does mean reduced probability for them to renew as a group
in terms of Gidle specifically I think the group will most likely continue but maybe under a separate company????
