Why are people here trying to make excuses? At the end it don't matter if it is korean or international age, the age gap is still insane and she is an adult in both cases and the victim an underage.
What a 19 year old person would want or have in common with someone with 14 or a 20 year person with someone with 15? 🤨

And why you guys are saying things like "what dating/date means in korea"? Does koreans date different from the rest of the world or you guys are getting fooled by kdramas? Even if there is no sex involved there still skinship (holding hand, hugging and even kissing).

“i lied, it was the only chance i had” is such a crazy thing. The fact she lied about her age by saying to the kid she was 16 means she knew she was doing something wrong.

as someone who was here, on this thread, making excuses... yeah. i should not have done any of that. never thought i'd become an oppalogist but here i was, asking rubbish like "what's dating in the phillippines like?" as a knee-jerk reaction, just to see if in any way my fave could seem less horrible than she did at that moment. the more i think about it, the more i realise - no. not when she admitted, in plain language, that she indeed did something that bad.

that line in bold right there is exactly what it is. you know you're doing something insanely fucked up if you're lying about your age there. to date a literal child 5 years younger, as an adult, because you're single and desperate, and to talk about it like a cute childhood memory: both are insanely fucked up. and i'm sorry to have even attempted to excuse any of this. dara was a creep for this, and is a creepy dumbass for yapping away about this. fuck her.

Aside from the age discussion: Did Dara plan to keep it like that? I would expect a statement like: "Sorry, I had not expressed myself very well, we were just friends and went out for a drink a few times ... bla bla". Words that calm things down.
