These are the Jessica Jung books she published after leaving SM. I randomly remembered their existence today, and now I'm curious.

These are the Jessica Jung books she published after leaving SM. I randomly remembered their existence today, and now I'm curious.

I read both in digital form after each release. In fact I randomly found a physical copy (at a discount last yr) n bought Shine. I hvnt read either again in yrs tho.

It doesn't rlly answer wat rlly happened behind the scenes of irl but gives the flavor of kpop behind the scenes. Whether it actually reveals anything true is highly subjective ofc. Nothing too exposing in my opinion n recent events hv shown drama between idols vs company much more dramatic in past yr since 2014, wow almost exactly 10 yrs later!!! Read/get it if curious but temper expectations(it reflects ONE idols personal POV, it depends on yr personal perception.)

I have a physical copy of Shine but never read past the first chapter bc the writing isn't my style at all. I know Bright especially caused some infighting to occur within the fandom, but irdk anything regarding authenticity

doesn't reveal much in general and if there's any takeaway it's that dispatch was very likely right, a lot of the intermember drama plot points were irresponsible at best considering the marketing angle of the release

Interesting, so more "it gives an idea of what the industry may be like" and less "this is exactly what happened with SNSD."

The blurb reads a little YA to me, which I've found harder to enjoy lately, tbh. So I might pass on actually reading it, but I appreciate all the insight!
