Yes, you read that right. Butterflies don’t have lungs. Instead they basically breathe through little holes on their body. Butterflies breathe through small holes called spiracles on their abdomen and chest. These holes connect to tiny tubes called trachea, which spread through their body to bring oxygen to their cells and remove carbon dioxide.​
