Rose Cleveland was the sister of Grover Cleveland. She was First Lady for a year, due to Grover Cleveland being unmarried when he took office. Rose Cleveland had an on off relationship with Evangeline Simpson, a philanthropist and author, from 1889 until Roses death in 1918. Many of the letters written between the two women remain.
