Differentiating things by the color blue might be fairly recent?
From what I’ve read, the Egyptians were the first to have a recorded separate word for it, and some places now don’t have a word for blue. It’s thought it could have to do with people not differentiating it from other colors, and supposedly some tests were done with people that come from somewhere with no word for blue, where they were asked to differentiate blue from green (they said point to the one that’s different), and they struggled or were unable to. This theory got into place when someone notices that Homers Odyssey has no mentions of blue in it.
