That in most US states it’s illegal to be driving with an opened container of alcohol? You don’t need to be drinking it. Having a bottle of alcohol that isn’t sealed in the car is a crime just by itself. I honestly don’t see any reason for this to be illegal. If you’re not drinking then what’s the issue?

By opened I mean opened at one point. Even if it’s closed at the time you’re driving, if someone had previously opened it that’s illegal

I think the issue with an open can/bottle of alcohol is that there is presumption of drinking under the influence

Now if only we had devices that could give a general reading of someone’s BAC to have a way to test that, instead of assuming that anyone with alcohol that’s been opened has been or was planing to engage in any kind of drinking
