They were also small town schools with limited funds so that might have explained why they didn’t have them

yeah, our school offers breakfast and lunch. they're technically paid but you can't opt out of them so... in a sense they're free as long as you pay the stupidly high school fees.

From what I remember, for my elementary, middle, and high schools, we had to go to the admin to "RSVP" for breakfast through a poverty relief program. all of us could join, but those who didn't make the poverty cut had to pay for the meals at a steeper price than lunch.

i only ate the snacks i took with myself but they're not really breakfast, as for actual meals my school didn't provide anything like that
