How often do you pay attention to lyrics in kpop songs? I usually only pay attention if I heard they are meaningful or weird in some way otherwise oftentimes I don't look them up

It can make me appreciate a song more, but they usually don’t matter

no, if a song is good then it's good. many of my faves even outside of kpop (or even in my native language lmao) have songs where the lyrics are such nonsense that look like they were made with the predictive text feature but i don't mind because if i wanted to read something with meaning i'd pick up a book.

I actually hate loa's lyrics from the translations I've read and it's still one of my fav twice titles

I don't fully go on and investigate the lyrics, but with this limited Korean knowledge if I hear an interesting line, it would definitely make me appreciate the song more. However, if I hear one more 내 손을 잡아 I will riot.

I usually appreciate music more when the lyrics are good and with some personal involvement from part of the singers but I can also appreciate a song with meaningless lyrics.
